THAT'S IT!

I am committing myself to losing weight.

I am tired of looking this way, and worrying about picking something to wear every morning because i'm afraid it's going to be too tight.

And here's the really shallow part: I'm tired of seeing people i know who weigh less than i do. I'm horrible, aren't i?? I should be happy for these people, but instead i'm jealous, and i want to be skinny too.

So i'm going to start with WW online because i feel it will give me the flexibility to choose what i want to eat. I know i'll be miserable if i can't have my coffee with cream and honey in the morning and i'm willing to sacrifice other things for it. I also want to be able to eat out on occasion and not sit there eating a lettuce with lemon juice for dressing while other people are eating regular meals. I have enough time to do WW, so i'm going to do it.

On top of this, i'm going to attend some cardio classes. I'm very bad at going to the gym and doing a routine, but i don't mind going to the gym and attending a one-hour class. So that's what i'm going to do.

Now, i need all of you to keep me honest and on track, OK???

Sarah: good idea about being buddies...how do we do this exactly?

Mat: you better put your tough skin on, because i think there's going to be many-a-day with cranky Roz...

Hey Roz. I know that there is a program on the QC side called Mince a vie (sp). I have some of their cookbooks and everything is really good.

Good sites that are motivatings:
- http://www.ivillage.com/ They have an online tool to help you keep up the motivation to lose weight
- iGoogle has an application called 'Water Tracker' this will help you meet you water goals.

Good luck with the weight lost! Cardio classes sound good. If you have a goodlife membership, try Body Pump.

Do you have a goodlife membership? If so I have a friend who teaches a class in orleans you might want to check out.
I have tons of ww cookbooks if you want to borrow any and vicky and I use this blog to store recipes and there are a bunch that have the points on them: http://ottawarecipesharing.blogspot.com/

You can totally do this! I'm on the same exact path right now (and boy, do I feel you about "what to wear, what to wear" every morning). I'm on WW myself and I just purchased the starter kit on eBay. Also, the nice general rule of thumb is every 50 calories = 1 point and every 100 calories you burn = an extra point! Also, I try to take in between 22-24 points a day. It's DOABLE, especially with WW food available at grocery stores. Here's some virtual WW support :)

Look at the love you are receiving from your netting friends. I will support you and root you on too. Just don't take it too too seriously okay? This year is all about you getting married, enjoying your new place, life, etc. Do the WW thing to get healthier not to lose weight, losing weight is just the mega bonus at the end. PS-I will post pics of my two new pics for sure

Thanks everyone :)

Lara: i dont' have a good life membership, but i'll keep your friend in mind in the future. I may just borrow your WW cookbooks, and i'll definitely check out that website.

Jennie and Ms. Porter: thanks for the support! It means a lot :)

Thank you for offering to be Sarah's WW buddy. I know she appreciates it and I do too.

You go girl! For what it's worth, WW didn't work for me, but reading "You: On a Diet" certainly did. Something about understanding the body chemistry and biology of it all really helped me, and for the first time ever I actually lost weight. (Mind you, it took me over four months to lose 10 lbs and then I found out I was pg and I gained 15 since then, but it was real progress at the time!) I also used this site a lot, but I think it's similar to the WW tools: http://www.calorie-count.com/

Good luck, and I'll be cheering for you, too!

I could have written your post myself! I've been back at WW since January and I'm feeling very unmotivated. I didn't even go to the meeting this week because I figured I didn't even bother to write a single thing down, so what's the point. It's such a struggle!
